Bluesky

The Bluesky scheduler that plans, writes and posts for your clients.

SocialScheduler plans each client's Bluesky week, writes posts that fit 300 characters and adds images when they help. You or the client approve, and replies come back to one inbox.

Bluesky has no built-in scheduler, so you schedule Bluesky posts through a tool connected with an app password. SocialScheduler is a Bluesky scheduler for agencies: its AI plans each client's week, writes every post under 300 characters in the client's voice, adds up to 4 images, and publishes over the AT Protocol once you or the client approve.

Free for one client. No credit card.

Why Bluesky matters for agencies now

Bluesky passed 40 million registered accounts in 2026, according to third-party trackers, though far fewer open it every day. Its audience leans toward journalists, researchers, developers, artists and people who left X. For a client in those circles, a small Bluesky following can bring more replies than a large one elsewhere.

For an agency it is a cheap channel to add. Posts are short, there are no ads to manage, and the ideas come from the same weekly plan as the client's other networks. The hard part is showing up every week in the right voice and answering people. SocialScheduler does both, so Bluesky does not become the network nobody has time for.

How the app password connection works

Bluesky runs on the AT Protocol, an open network where tools connect with an app password instead of the account's main password. The client creates one in Bluesky under Settings, Privacy and security, App passwords, and you paste it with the handle. SocialScheduler signs in once and keeps only the session tokens, not the app password itself.

An app password cannot delete the account, change its email or main password, or create other app passwords. Leave the direct messages box unchecked: SocialScheduler does not read DMs. To cut access, delete the app password in Bluesky and disconnect the account in SocialScheduler. Bluesky also offers OAuth for apps; app passwords remain fully supported.

What an agency week looks like

Each client has a brief: voice, offers, topics to avoid, links. On Sunday the AI plans the week across every network the client uses, then writes the Bluesky posts for Bluesky: direct, conversational, under 300 characters, with at most two hashtags. Some posts carry an image the AI designs in the client's colors.

Then someone says yes. Your team approves in the app, or the client opens an email link to the week and approves, comments or asks for a change without a login. Clients you trust can run on autopilot.

  • Sunday: the week is planned and drafted
  • Review: your team or the client approves from a link
  • During the week: posts go out at each client's best hours
  • Monday: a report under your agency's name

Replies, mentions and quotes in one inbox

Bluesky is a conversation network, and a post that gets no answers from the brand goes quiet. SocialScheduler pulls replies, mentions and quote posts for each client into one inbox with their Instagram, Facebook, Threads, X and YouTube comments, and drafts an answer in the client's voice for you to send or edit. You can like or repost from the same screen.

Keyword rules take care of the repeat work. When a reply contains a word you choose, a rule can answer publicly, for example with a link to a guide, like the reply or repost it. Private messages are not part of the Bluesky connection, so nothing is sent by DM there. Likes, replies and reposts on each post feed the Monday report.

The best time to post on Bluesky

Buffer's August 2026 study of more than 3 million Bluesky posts found the weekend strongest. Saturday at 5 p.m. led, Saturday and Sunday had the highest engagement of the week, and Monday was the best weekday. Weekday late mornings, about 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., were quietest. That is close to the opposite of X and Threads.

Feeds change the math. The Following feed is chronological, so a post has to land while followers are scrolling. Custom feeds, built by anyone on the AT Protocol, pick up posts by topic or keyword and keep them visible to people who do not follow the client yet. So SocialScheduler looks at when each client's followers are active and how past posts did, and schedules each post for that client's best hour. You can move any post.

Is there a free Bluesky scheduler?

Yes. SocialScheduler's free plan covers one client with up to 3 connected accounts, Bluesky included, and 20 AI credits a month. Publishing never costs credits, and a planned week costs 10. When you add clients, Business is $49 a month for 5 clients and 15 accounts, and Agency is $149 a month for 15 clients and 60 accounts, with 20% off yearly.

Other schedulers, such as Buffer and Fedica, also have free tiers that queue posts you write yourself. The difference here is that the AI plans and writes each post in the client's voice instead of only queuing what you wrote.

Other networks

One plan, every network.

Each client's week is written once, then sized for every network they are on.

Also publishes to Reddit, Google Business Profile, Dev.to, Hashnode, WordPress, ListMonk and Lemmy.

Not in the Bluesky app, which has no scheduling feature as of September 2026. You schedule Bluesky posts with a third-party tool connected by an app password, such as SocialScheduler.

Create an app password in Bluesky under Settings, Privacy and security, App passwords, and paste it into SocialScheduler with the handle. Then write or approve the post, pick a time, and it publishes on its own.

One that handles many clients without extra logins. SocialScheduler plans and writes each client's Bluesky week, lets clients approve from an email link with no login, answers replies from one inbox and sends a Monday report under your agency's name.

Yes. An app password cannot delete the account or change its email or main password, and you can revoke it at any time. SocialScheduler stores only the session tokens and never reads direct messages.

300 characters, counted as graphemes, so an emoji or an accented letter counts as one. SocialScheduler writes each post to fit and counts it before it is scheduled.

Bluesky allows up to 4 images per post, and since August 2026 videos up to 10 minutes and 300 MB. SocialScheduler publishes text posts and up to 4 images to Bluesky; it does not post video there.

Weekends, with Saturday at 5 p.m. on top in Buffer's August 2026 study of more than 3 million posts. Monday was the strongest weekday and late weekday mornings were quietest. The best hour for one account depends on when its followers are online.

No. A post published through the AT Protocol is a normal Bluesky post, and the Following feed and custom feeds treat it like any other. Reach depends on the content and the hour.

It depends on the audience. Threads is larger and tied to Instagram; Bluesky is smaller, with more journalists, researchers and tech people, and a chronological Following feed. Many brands post to both, which is why each network gets its own version from the same weekly plan.

No. It starts from the same weekly plan, then writes for Bluesky: under 300 characters, conversational, with at most two hashtags.

Yes. SocialScheduler only uses official APIs. No browser automation, no shared passwords.

Yes. The client gets an email link with the week and can approve, comment or ask for a change. No login. Or your team approves, or you turn on autopilot for clients you trust.
