The Instagram scheduler that plans, writes and posts for your clients.
SocialScheduler plans each client's Instagram week, writes the captions, designs the carousels and makes the Reels. You or the client approve, and it posts when their followers are online.
An Instagram scheduler publishes posts, carousels and Reels at a time you choose, without anyone opening the app. SocialScheduler is an Instagram scheduler for agencies: its AI plans each client's week, writes the captions, designs the carousels and makes the Reels, then posts through Instagram's official API once you or the client approve.
Free for one client. No credit card.

How scheduling works through the official Instagram API
Instagram lets approved apps publish directly to business and creator accounts through its content publishing API. That means the post goes live on its own at the scheduled time. There is no push notification to open the app and no phone to hold. Personal accounts cannot be auto-posted by any tool, which is why some schedulers fall back to reminders.
You can connect an account two ways. Instagram login needs only the Instagram professional account. Facebook login works through the Facebook Page the Instagram account is linked to, so that route needs a Page. Both use the same official API and publish the same formats. SocialScheduler never asks for a password and never automates a browser.
What an agency workflow looks like
Each client has a brief: voice, offers, topics to avoid, links. On Sunday the AI plans the client's week across every network they use and writes each Instagram caption in the client's voice. It designs the images and carousels and makes the Reels.
Then someone says yes. Your team can approve in the app, or the client gets an email link to the week and approves, comments or asks for a change without a login. Clients you trust can run on autopilot. On Monday each client gets a report under your agency's name.
- Sunday: the week is planned and drafted
- Review: your team or the client approves from a link
- During the week: posts go out at each client's best hours
- Monday: a report under your agency's name
Reels and carousels
Reels are vertical short videos. The AI writes the script, adds captions on screen and a voiceover, and posts the result as a Reel. Instagram accepts Reels up to 3 minutes in the app, and anything over 3 minutes is not recommended to people who don't already follow the account, so short is the safer default.
Carousels are the saves-and-shares format. Instagram raised the in-app limit to 20 slides in August 2024, but the publishing API still allows 10, so every scheduling tool that auto-posts works within 10. SocialScheduler designs carousels of 2 to 10 slides in the client's colors and fonts, and you can also build one yourself in the composer.
The best time to post on Instagram
Large studies agree on the shape, not the exact hour. Sprout Social's March 2026 report (nearly 2 billion engagements, local time) puts the peaks on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Buffer's September 2026 study of 9.6 million posts names Thursday 9 a.m., Wednesday noon and Wednesday 6 p.m. as the top slots. Both find weekends weakest.
Averages are a starting point. A bakery's followers and a B2B consultant's followers are online at different hours. SocialScheduler looks at when each client's audience is online and at how past posts did, and schedules each post for that client's best hour. You can move any post.
Is there a free Instagram scheduler?
Yes. Instagram and Meta Business Suite can schedule posts for one account, which is fine for a single brand. SocialScheduler's free plan covers one client with up to 3 connected accounts and 20 AI credits a month, and publishing never costs credits. A planned week costs 10 credits. When you add clients, Business is $49 a month for 5 clients and Agency is $149 a month for 15, with 20% off yearly.
One plan, every network.
Each client's week is written once, then sized for every network they are on.

A post published through the official API is a normal Instagram post, the same as one made in the app. Reach depends on the content and the hour, which is why each post goes out when the client's audience is online.
